OUR HISTORY

Counties Manukau Touch Association was formed in 1992 to facilitate the growing numbers of Touch players participating in the Counties Manukau Region, and to co-ordinate a structure to enable regional representation at the annual Touch NZ National Tournament(s).

In recent years, we have witnessed an extraordinary growth, propelling us to become one of the largest provinces in the country. This is a testament to our passionate community, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

The essence of touch rugby lies in its simplicity and inclusivity. It offers an opportunity for people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels to come together and share their love for the game. One of the main reasons behind our province's success is the emphasis we place on promoting participation for everyone. From experienced athletes to beginners, touch rugby welcomes all who wish to experience the joy of camaraderie and competition.

We are proud to embrace the AWHI promise and implement the values of this special kaupapa in all we do as an organisation, on and off the field. Awhi meaning to embrace, describes our focus and attitude towards our players and the creation of a safe and nurturing environment.

Touch rugby is not just a game; it's a way of life for our community. The spirit of inclusivity, team, and competition runs deep within our province. It has brought our community closer, uniting people from all walks of life under a common passion. Our values such as respect, resilience, and integrity, whānau & enjoyment have a profound impact on individuals both on and off the pitch.
